CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

IF YOU REQUIRE ADVICE REGARDING A DENTAL EMERGENCY PLEASE RING THE PRACTICE BETWEEN 9AM AND 11-30AM, THANK YOU.

In view of the corona virus threat and in order to keep our patients safe, please be informed that we will be changing our working patterns in the coming weeks.

The NHS England guidelines that have been put in place advise us to cancel all appointments for patients.

The practice will now be operating a telephone triage system only to give advice.

Please DO NOT ATTEND the practice.

General Dental Council Standards

All staff at the practice adhere to the General Dental Council (GDC) standards. There are nine principles registered dental professionals must keep to at all times.

As a GDC registrant you must:

  1. Put patients' interests first
  2. Communicate effectively with patients
  3. Obtain valid consent
  4. Maintain and protect patients' information
  5. Have a clear and effective complaints procedure
  6. Work with colleagues in a way that is in patients' best interests
  7. Maintain, develop and work within your professional knowledge and skills
  8. Raise concerns if patients are at risk
  9. Make sure your personal behaviour maintains patients' confidence in you and the dental profession

Standards for the Dental Team applies to:

  • Dentists
  • Dental Nurses
  • Dental Hygienists
  • Dental Therapists
  • Orthodontic Therapists
  • Dental Technicians
  • Clinical Dental Technicians

The principles are all equally important and are not listed in order of priority. They are supplemented by additional guidance documents which can be found on the General Dental Council website at www.gdc-uk.org
